Leroy Massey Elementary School is the heart of early education in the Chattooga County School District, proudly serving as the only traditional elementary school in the county. With the largest population of K-5 students, LMES plays a vital role in shaping the future of our community by laying a strong academic and personal foundation for every child.
In addition to its main campus, LMES also operates two Pre-K and PALs classes located at the Chattooga County Education Center, further extending our commitment to early learning. These Pre-K and PALs classrooms provide our youngest learners with a nurturing and engaging environment that prepares them for a successful educational journey.
Our students grow through rich instruction in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, while also exploring their creativity in music and art. Unique experiences—like learning in our outdoor classroom and participating in civic clubs such as 4H—help students develop curiosity, responsibility, and a love for learning.
LMES is more than a school; it’s a place where future CHS Indians begin their journey, where families feel supported, teachers find purpose, and our entire community takes pride in the success we build together.
